OWIN6G Project Meeting in Dublin – June 2026
The OWIN6G consortium gathered in Dublin, Ireland, on 11–12 June 2026 for a two-day project meeting hosted at Technological University Dublin and Eblana Photonics.
The meeting brought together doctoral candidates, supervisors, and project partners to review research progress, coordinate the final stages of the project, and strengthen collaboration between academia and industry.
Research Progress and Project Coordination
The first day took place at Technological University Dublin, where consortium members discussed progress across the project’s technical work packages, ongoing research activities, and upcoming deliverables. Participants had the opportunity to visit the Photonics Research Centre.
Connecting Research with Industry
On the second day, the consortium visited Eblana Photonics in Dún Laoghaire, a company specialising in advanced semiconductor laser technologies.
Representatives from Eblana Photonics introduced the company’s activities and discussed laser technologies and their applications in optical communications, quantum technologies, frequency combs, and sensing.
The visit offered doctoral candidates and academic partners an opportunity to exchange ideas with industry experts and gain insights into the practical applications of photonics research.
Looking Ahead
The Dublin meeting marked another important step towards the completion of the OWIN6G project, bringing together scientific progress, international collaboration, and industrial perspectives.
Special thanks go to the teams at Technological University Dublin and Eblana Photonics for hosting the consortium and contributing to a productive meeting.
